Business Luncheon at Salisbury Country Club
May 2 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Chesterfield County is a great place to live, work, and play and we enjoy a high quality of life. But our community did not happen by chance – it is the result of land development guidance and regulations along with private and public sector investments. Our plan is also shaped by extensive community stakeholder engagement so that our community has a large say in how we grow. The county’s primary land development guide is our Comprehensive Plan.
Moving Forward is the comprehensive plan for Chesterfield County. It was adopted in 2012. This plan is a vision for the future which will help guide policy and development throughout the county. The plan is required to be updated every 5 years. In 2016, the Planning Commission started updating the existing plan. This process has included updating data, a detailed review of each chapter and citizen review.
The comprehensive plan is being reviewed by the Board of Supervisors who will hold a public hearing on the plan in the coming months. Come hear about the updated plan and how you can stay involved in the process, because once the comprehensive plan has been adopted, the work does not stop. The plan gives staff, developers and the community a new vision to work towards. It will help us align county programs, policies and regulations to achieve success in ensuring that all of our neighborhoods and businesses thrive, that we provide high quality public services and infrastructure, and maintain the high quality of life we know and love.
